The Pain...
So it seems as the pregnancy progresses, the pain is getting worse... I think I have sciatica which often times prevents me from even walking without screaming... It's usually at night after a long day sitting at work or a weekend where I've walked too much. It's pain I've never felt before and it paralyzes me. I can't take one step without feeling like someone is literally stabbing my back with a knife... Then there is the pelvic pain... That just seems to never go away now... At least with the sciatica it usually only shows itself towards the latter part of the day... The pelvic pain is constant... Every step I take I feel it... I've begun to learn to manage the pain and shut it out as much as I can, but some moments I have to sit down immediately. It is pain coupled with a burning sensation within the bones that cannot be explained. 14 more weeks of this... I hope I make it with my sanity in check. The little monster is definitely growing... I feel him kicking at all hours of the day and the kicks are just getting stronger and more unusual. There are movements that are unfamiliar and I'm not sure if that is due to him getting bigger and running out of room or him being able to move around differently now that he's older...
I went to my OB last week and found out I had only gained 2 pounds since my last visit which was about 4 weeks prior. I was a bit shocked because I feel like I've been eating alot... So in total I've gained about 10 pounds up until this point. Freddie thinks it's too little and accused me of "starving the baby!" That is totally ridiculous. But he is now on my case more than ever about eating 3 meals a day with snacks throughout the day... I let him think what he wants, but I just can't eat when I'm not hungry! I do eat when I get hungry (or when the little monster starts kicking letting me know it's time to eat), but I just am not one of those girls who eat non-stop throughout pregnancy I guess. I've had my share of cravings - french fries, ice-cream, chips... But usually I crave it and then once I get a taste, I'm fine and don't need to eat an entire bag of chips or tub of ice-cream...
So I have my glucose test in 12 days and I pray to god that it comes back negative. I have cut back on soda and sugar the past few weeks and now that my test is coming up, Freddie has all but restricted me to anything with sugar in it. He is convinced that I might come back positive due to all the soda I drank in my first trimester and I want to prove him wrong!!! It was the only thing that helped me feel better during my morning sickness so there was just no way around it... I guess we will see...
