Crib

So our crib was delivered on Friday!  My brother bought it for Monster Kwan as a gift...  After days and hours of research I had finally decided on the color, style and size.  I received lots of good input from various friends on what they bought and what they did or didn't like about their cribs and it was a wide range of reasons.  The style was pretty much dictated by the room size and the layout we were envisioning.  We decided to keep the queen sized bed in the nursery for when my mom comes to visit and also so that if one of us needs to be with the baby, we can sleep in that room instead of bringing him into the master bedroom and waking up the other person...  This of course created a layout issue since the bed takes up alot of room.  I think we've got a setup that will work now.  It's not the most ideal, but everything we need will be in the nursery and it will be functional.

It was hubby's b-day Saturday so went out to dinner Friday with his mom...  She pre-ordered this monstrous lobster salad and chicken dish.  The salad was made from a 6 lb lobster!  It was a mutant, but the salad was really good...  After dinner we came home and hubs went to work on assembling the crib.  Knowing his skills and history of assembly I thought it would take half the night, but he was done in about 1.5 hrs!  Of course there were the occasional f bombs and mumbling under his breath throughout the assembly, but he did a good job. I am happy with our choice - it's more of a modern style crib instead of the traditional style...  Surprisingly hubs is the one who chose the style!  At first I wasn't digging it, but the more I looked at it I liked it...  I went into the nursery to keep hubs company and ended up falling asleep in there...  I woke up around 5am and realized that I was in the nursery and saw the crib sitting there next to me.  It was an odd feeling.  It hit me once again that this little monster will be here very soon.  It was as if I expected to see him in the crib if I peeked in...  There are still moments when I still cannot believe that I am going to be a mommy and that I have a baby inside of me...  Now the next mission: baby bedding!  This has been a challenging area...  I just cannot seem to decide!
