3D/4D Ultrasound - Part II
So we went for round 2 of the 3D/4D ultrasound today with our fingers crossed... He had been so active the past week and then all of a sudden he was so quiet today - figures! I decided to eat dinner after the appointment so I figured he'd be more fiesty (he always kicks when he's hungry), but what do you know... he was snoozing when I got there... His BPM was low since he was being a sleepyhead. When we got our first look, the first good thing was that he head was positioned downward and he was no longer in a breached position! Plus the placenta was lying above him - I was worried I would have a low lying placenta still from a previous ultrasound... However, the little monster was fast asleep and would not turn his head to look at us...
The sonographer poked and prodded my belly, but he was knocked out! Finally she handed me a Capri-sun and told me to drink it and move around. I downed it, swayed side to side and jumped up and down a bit... Then I laid back down on the bed and held my breath hoping that did the trick... But NO! Finally after more poking, he began to turn his head... When I got that first glimpse of his face it all became so real. I could see his eyelids, nose, mouth, cheeks, etc... Putting a face to this little thing that keeps me up at night, gives me backaches and makes me eat like no tomorrow made me feel a connection to him. It made me feel like I don't want him to come out so I can take care of him and protect him in my belly forever... But I know that's impossible and he will be here soon... Soon he will be crying and driving me insane, throwing tantrums and telling me he hates me for not giving him a cookie... *sigh*
