16 Weeks
So I've survived week 2 of being back at work. This week was a bit harder for some reason. I'm still trying to establish a routine between pumping at night and having to get up in the morning... Exhaustion started setting in and at times I thought I was going to pass out at work. I just downed more caffeine to keep me going...
Keoni has been adapting well at daycare and his teachers seem to love him. I don't know if they say that to everyone, but I'm taking it as it is. His personality is shining more and being at daycare is slowly teaching him to be independent. He can play for longer periods of time alone without attention, which has made our lives so much easier. We can cook, do dishes, laundry, etc while he plays in his bouncer. He is also giving out smiles like candy with the occasional chuckle. I know those melt Freddie's heart and he loves it when Keoni does it! He seems like a happy baby overall and his fussiness has subsided considerably. I'm not sure if that's a by-product of daycare or maturity, but I'll take it! It takes less time to put him to bed and he doesn't fight himself as long... I think we've also almost mastered his different cries and know what to do. Day by day he's growing in front of our eyes and day by day I think I love him even more! Is that even possible? Who knew I'd become like this...
Garu is also showing signs of himself this past week as well. It's two steps forward and one step back. Some days he's still totally lost bumping into everything and other days he seems to know his way around. He's had a few accidents; peeing on the rug, tumbling down the stairs... But overall I think he is slowly adapting to his new life. We're still trying to figure out what we need to help him with and what we need to let him be independent with... We will get there! I love the little guy too much to give up!
