19 Weeks
So yet another week has passed... I am slowly forgetting how many weeks old Keoni is... I guess this is a sign that he is getting older since I am now thinking in months and not weeks? I remember going to my first bfing group and someone asked me how old Keoni was and I answered in weeks and she smiled and said "I remember when I still used weeks! He is still pretty young then!" I suppose there is a silent transition between answering in weeks then months when moms are asked their babies age...
This past weekend Keoni took his first trip to Maine! It's amazing all the years that have gone by. I remember going up there when none of us were even married! Now B and Jen are married with two kids, we are married with one kid... Time is just flying by... Keoni was great in the car - slept the entire way as we hoped... He slept in a pack n play for the first time and did well. His sleeping schedule remained pretty consistent throughout the weekend. His naps were definitely shorter since we didn't have his swing with us. It seems that the swing is still the only place where he'll nap a solid 2+ hrs. Monday he took two 2.5 hr naps to make up for the weekend. I didn't realize, but I was dead tired from the weekend too and napped when Keoni did on Monday. It was nice to have it off. I'm still not used to having Mondays off! I love it though and will definitely get used to it!
So in Maine Freddie caught his first decent sized fish! Too bad he didn't take my camera with him, so there is no proof, but B can vouch for him. He caught two of them and then released them. He ran back to the cabin to tell me like a little boy. It was nice to see him have a good time and take a break from being a daddy~
In the past week it seems like Keoni is wanting to be held much more. After a while in the bouncer he will cry and will instantly stop crying the minute I pick him up. I'm wondering if I'm nurturing a bad habit...? He is still young and likes to explore his surroundings. He still cannot sit up by himself, but with some help he manages for a little while before he slowly falls to one side. I see the other babies in his class and they are sitting, holding their own bottles, jumping up and down in the exersaucer.... I can't wait to see Keoni achieve all those milestones. I believe he is the youngest in the class... On one hand I don't want him to grow up, but on the other hand I can't wait!
