36 Weeks

So my baby turned 8 months!  I can't believe how quickly the months are passing us by.  He is now starting to crawl backwards.  I thought he might skip the whole crawling action, but perhaps he won't.  He is moving 360 on his belly and pushing himself backward.  I'm told this is the beginning of him actually being able to crawl forward so we'll see.  He still hates being on his belly, so this only lasts for a short while, but it's fun to watch nonetheless.  He is going through some hiccups with his sleep though.  Some nights he sleeps for 11 hrs straight and other nights it's only 9 or 10 hrs.  It seems like no big deal, but an hour or two in the morning is a HUGE difference.  I've been going into his room and taking him from his crib and sleeping with him in the bed in his nursery.  I'm just so tired and want to go back to sleep.  It's been working so far although I'm sure this is a horrible habit to get into.  At least I am not bringing him into our room so I take solace in that fact.  Through the tiredness, I still stare at him drift off to sleep and feel as though we have our bonding moments at 5am.  He knows I'm there with him and I feel happy knowing I can soothe him back to sleep.

The weekends are filled with hanging out with other babies lately.  I guess this is the stage in our life where that's what weekends comprise of.  Mason came over Friday and he was walking around everywhere getting into trouble by daddy.  He is definitely a smart kid!  Saturday we went to brunch with Jessi, Jake, Chris, Jmo and Yiu.  Jake is a big boy!!!  He was as pudgy in person as he was in all the pics I've seen.  He was pretty chill and just observed his surroundings.  Keoni was pretty good at the restaurant so I was relieved.  He sat in a high chair for the first time at a restaurant!  I think I need to go buy one of those chair covers since god knows what type of germs are on those chairs!  I'm not a germ freak, but I think that is a necessity...  Sunday we hung out with Hieng and Kai and Nathan came over.  He's become a shy boy, but is already walking around everywhere and was full of smiles!  I was thinking back to when I met Fannie when she was prego and how quickly the year has passed since Nathan is now one!

So my bro is coming to visit Keoni this week.  This will be the first time he'll be meeting him.  We're supposed to get another snow storm this week so I'm pretty sure his flight will end up being canceled.  I hope he gets on another flight sooner than later.  It'll be interesting to see Ed interact with Keoni.  I don't think I've ever seen him with a baby!
