40 Weeks
So this past week was pretty horrible. It was one thing after another and I am still so exhausted physically and mentally... As I mentioned last week, I canceled my trip to LA and headed down to NYC. Keoni was fairly good during the car ride, but it was all downhill in NYC. He got sick and then his eczema came back with a vengeance. He never slept through the night the entire weekend and would be so cranky and tired during the day. His naps were short and not satisfying so he was just not himself. I hardly got any sleep all weekend since I was awakened by him every hour or sometimes even every 1/2 hr! By the time I got back home, I was ready to pass out. I ended up passing out all afternoon Monday. Fred slept in all morning and then after lunch I went back to bed. It was much needed for both of us! Keoni is only just getting over his cold and his face is clearing up now. I think his teething also contributed to his unhappiness this past week. I can see the top two teeth trying to break through his gums, which explains why his fingers are a permanent fixture in his mouth...
Despite all the sickness and exhaustion, Keoni has managed to make some strides developmentally this week! He is so much more mobile and it seems like he will be crawling shortly. I never thought he'd be a crawler, but I guess I was wrong! He is all over the place now. He can go from the sitting position to his belly and then back onto his bum now! Also, he has mastered the passing game. He will hand Fred the ball and then take the ball back when Fred hands it back to him. Then he'll repeat it with his other hand. I know it's so simple, but just watching him do this exercise amazes me... He is getting stronger as well. It's now easy for him to pull himself up on the side of the crib up to his knees and he's almost got it all the way up to his feet. We found him with his head over the side of the crib with of course his mouth on the railing since his gums are aching as of late... We were shocked and ecstatic at the same time!
Oh and I almost forgot! Keoni turned 9 months on Sunday! This is also his 40th week of life outside of the womb. It's amazing to think he's been in this world as long as he was inside me now... Time is flying!!!
So Ed's situation still is in limbo and at this point I think he's going to have to leave Seoul. I'm crossing my fingers that he can land a position within the company in Cali. That would be great for him in my opinion and also motivation for us to finally move out there! I've been in Boston way too long. My departure from here is way overdue. I have to begin making realistic plans of what steps we need to take to make it out there...
